In this lesson, we’ll learn how to test **agentic AI systems** — ones built with LLMs, tools, and logic flows — where outputs vary by design. Testing AI requires a shift in mindset — from “Did it say exactly this?” to “Did it behave the way it should?” Let’s get started. --- # What to Assert When Outputs Vary Traditional tests often boil down to one question: _Did the output exactly match what I expected?_ But with LLMs and agentic systems, that’s rarely the right question. Instead, the goal is to check whether the system behaved **correctly, safely, and usefully** — even if the exact words change from one run to the next.
